Mr. Lawrence Mejia

Lawrence “Chico” Mejia, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 23, 2015 at the Olathe Hospice House.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Saturday October 31st at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th Street Shawnee, KS.  Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00pm Friday at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf.  Rosary recitation will be at 7:00pm.   Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Olathe Hospice, 15310 S. Marion St. Olathe, KS 66061 or Atchison Valley Hope, 1816 N. Second Street, Atchison, KS 66002.  Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Geronimo and Francisca Mejia, his wife, Luciana Esparenza (Hope), and a son, Lawrence Jr.; siblings: Alfred and Leonard Mejia, Helen Nunez, Mary Reyes and Connie Garcia.   Lawrence is survived by one brother, Marshall Mejia, five children: Patricia (Angel) Garcia, JoAnn Lozano, Sophia (Robert) Poor, Cecilia (Steven) Masters, Christopher (Teresa) Mejia; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Lawrence enjoyed spending time with his family and Large Circle of friends.
