Lawrence Myers

Lawrence E. ?Larry? Myers, 70, of Overland Park died Saturday at Menorah Medical Center.

He was born in Kansas City, KS Oct. 28, 1937 to William and Vera Myers. He grew up in K.C.MO and attended Southwest High School. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-o-say. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1959 with a degree in Industrial Management and a commission into the Navy. He served 4 years, returning to Kansas City in 1963 to begin a 35 year career in the insurance industry. He retired from Aetna/ING in 1998 and spent his retirement years traveling, fishing and cheering for the Jayhawks. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy; son, Eric and wife, Katy of Overland Park; daughter, Mindy Allen of Olathe; 4 grandchildren, Evan and Ava Myers and Seth and Shelby Allen; and brother, William J. Myers of Overland Park.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 5:30-7:30pm at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct 15 at 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
