Mr. Lawrence Niemi

Lawrence Valentine Niemi (Larry), age 75, of Overland Park, KS passed away on March 23, 2014 at Menorah Medical Center. A memorial service will be at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the chapel.
Larry was born on August 30, 1938 in Warrenton, Oregon. He was raised in Northern Minnesota and moved to Overland Park in 1972. Larry married Phyllis Kay Spurlin on March 28, 1964. They were married 50 years. He was a devoted husband, father, friend and NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, three children; Grace (Rick) Starr of Mission, Daniel (Katheryn) Niemi of New York, and Melinda (Todd) Senseney of Overland Park, a granddaughter, Samantha Starr, three sisters, Marie (John) Hunt, Joan Sell and Janice (Jerry) Siedlecki, brother, Thomas Niemi and many nieces and nephews.
