LAWRENCE W. TERNES
Lawrence W. Ternes, 78, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on December 23, 2010. A funeral and burial service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, Dec.30, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005. Visitation will be held an hour preceding the services at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church, Overland Park, KS, or FOCUS Ministries (ID 4293). Lawrence was born Mar. 29, 1932, in Milwaukee, WI, to William and Elsie Ternes. He joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. He graduated from The University of Illinois in 1957. Larry married Suzanne Morgan on Sep. 6, 1958. He was a Supervising Tax Assessor for the City of Milwaukee for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Ternes; daughter, Stephanie (James) Becker of Waukee, Iowa, and son, Timothy (Katherine) Ternes of Overland Park, KS; and grandchildren, Katie, Jimmy, Robbie, Kimberly and Neal.
