Lee Harris Zimmerman, age 72, of Lee’s Summit, MO went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Visitation will be from 1-3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 11th at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 350 SW State Route 150, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Private inurnment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
Lee was born on September 23, 1937 in West Palm Beach, FL. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Regional Sales Manager and a Sales Representative in the Waste Water Treatment Industry for most of his career and later he was self employed. Lee enjoyed fishing and spending time at his lake house. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, the outdoors, carving, helping others, and the Green Bay Packers.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Dorothy Zimmerman; and his sister, Sue Healy. He leaves behind his wife of twelve years, Shari Hunzinger; his sons, Jay Harris Zimmerman and his wife Shawna and Michael Todd Zimmerman and his wife MarySue; his first wife and the mother of his children, Judy Zimmerman; four grandchildren, Markus, Matthew, Madison and Makenzie; two half sisters, Marie Sorenson and her husband Neal and Jean Humlicek ; a half brother, Earl Zimmerman and his wife Dee; a niece, Colleen Healy; a nephew, Patrick Healy; and many other nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by his family, friends, and his wonderful neighbors at his residence in Lee’s Summit and at the lake house.
