LELAND LAWRENCE “TANNY” TANNAHILL
Leland Lawrence Tannahill, age 93, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at home with family at his bedside. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 26th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 A.M. Saturday at the chapel prior to the service. Entombment will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions to John Knox Village Hospice, 400 Northwest Murray Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081 or the First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit, 1625 Northwest O’Brien Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081.
Leland was born on May 6, 1917 in Phillipsburg, KS. He had 44 years of service with the Chevron Chemical Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Grace; and by his brothers, Floyd A. Tannahill and Donald E. Tannahill.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Tannahill; sons, Larry (Judi) Tannahill, Albany, CA, Donald (Barb) Tannahill, Beatrice, NE and Dale (Janice) Tannahill, Southlake, TX; six grandchildren, Kevin, Donny, Craig, Kerrie, Kristina and Lori; and nine great grandchildren.
