On November 11, 2017, our mother left the pains of mortal life to join her family in heaven. We know she was welcomed there with cheers and celebration, as she is missed and grieved by those left behind.
Lenora Maxine Addy was born in Fontana, Kansas on Feb. 20, 1918 to Susie and Oscar Addy. She was proceeded in death by two older sisters and one younger brother.
She married Vernon C. Arnett on July 29, 1940. He proceeded her to heaven on April 1, 1968. They are survived by sons Robert W. Arnett and wife Darlene Arnett and Bruce A. Arnett and wife Ann Arnett. In addition, she has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mom never met a stranger. She developed quick and lasting friendships everywhere she went. Our mother and father raised us with an abundance of love and understanding. They instilled right from wrong sometimes with a gentle spanking when needed.
The family would like to thank the Nurses, CNAs, Volunteers and entire staff of Crown Care Center of Harrisonville for the care and support they gave to our family. Thank you for teaching us the fine art of “Noodle Ball’. I know mom is playing it now with a smile on her face. We must also thank Crossroads Hospice who helped our mother and us through a difficult time.
A private Celebration of Maxine’s Life will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Maxine’s memory.
We loved her and she loved us. We will miss her greatly. She will never be forgotten.
