Leonard Wayne Crase, age 84, died peacefully on December 30, 2008.
He was born in Spencer, Iowa, and proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy aviator during WW II, remaining active with the Navy Reserve until 1968. Mr. Crase graduated from Southwest Missouri State College and received a master's degree from the University of Iowa in 1950. He retired as a captain for TWA in 1984 after a distinguished 33- year career.
Mr. Crase was preceded in death by Shirley Marie, his beloved wife of 52 years. They were charter members of the Village Presbyterian Church. He is also survived by son Steven Crase and his wife Suzie of Denver, Colo.; daughter Susan Myers and her husband Andy of Prairie Village, Kan., and grandson Alexander Myers of Lawrence, Kan.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kan.
