Leonard Wyatt, 86, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Monday February 10, 2014 at Sweet Life of Overland Park.
He was born on November 26, 1927 to Ellen and John Wyatt in Kansas City, MO.
Leonard began an early career in music, playing saxophone on the radio and then with dance bands throughout his adult life. He served briefly in the U.S. Army before working for the U.S. Postal Service for the next 36 years. He retired as a Manager, Budget and Cost Analysis, and served on the Board of Directors for G.E.H.A.
He married his high school sweetheart Joyce Palmer on January 30, 1948 in Kansas City, MO.
His talents and hobbies were many and varied. He enjoyed photography, wood working, fishing, mechanics, even building his first home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Tom Wyatt.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Wyatt; three daughters, Susie Sassenberg, Cindy Strickler, Carol Ashley and husband David; seven grandchildren, Jay (Tonya), Jason (Eryn), Dana (Kevin), Cody (Tegan), Kayleigh (Rob), Jordan, Griffin and seven great grandchildren, Thomas, Sophia, Remington, Lydia, Avery, Kip, Baby Conley; sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, numerous friends and extended family.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
