LEROY HOPKINS, 82, Overland Park, KS was born July 14, 1930 and died December 26, 2012 at home.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Sarah Hopkins. Also surviving are son Mike and Cathie Hopkins and son William and Debbie Hopkins plus two granddaughters and great granddaughters. He was a quiet, kind man who loved his family. He enjoyed bowling and playing pool with friends and in earlier days loved to golf. He was a hard worker who ran small businesses most of his life.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his memory to Great Plains SPCA, 9800 67th St. Merriam, KS 66203, the shelter where Lee had adopted his beloved cat Gabriel.
