LeRoy Sheldon

LEROY JAMES SHELDON, JR. Leroy James Sheldon, Jr., 86, Cincinnati, Ohio, entered in to eternal peace April 9, 2016. Roy was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Morocco, Ind., son of Roy and Mayme Sheldon. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1951 and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was married to Barbara Ann Roesch for 63 years before she passed in 2013. He is survived by his children, Jay Sheldon (Debbie), Eric Sheldon (Jeannie), Trish Pachak (Jim), Scott Sheldon and Peter Sheldon (Angel) and was pre-deceased by his son, Todd Sheldon. Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. Roy began his career in 1949 with Mercantile Stores as a shoe salesman at Roots in Terre Haute, Ind., and continued his career with Mercantile Stores until he retired in 1991 as Vice President. He loved golfing and was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66210.
