Leslie “Jay” Boone
Leslie “Jay” Boone of Leawood, Kansas was born on March 15, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to Daniel Ellwood and Betty Laverne Boone. He passed on June 12, 2017. Although Jay had special challenges, he loved his family and friends very much and was happy working at ARCare and living at Life Centers of Kansas. He also loved animals, especially dogs and was most joyful on sunny days. Jay loved to celebrate birthdays with his friend, Gordon and he could precisely identify the date and day of week of any family/friend birth date or other holidays that were coming up. He also enjoyed traveling and being with his family, who he cherished. Jay had an amazing sense of humor and spent leisure time watching “The Three Stooges” and “Scooby Doo”, among others. Jay is preceded in death by his mother and father. He leaves his brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Erna Boone, two nieces, Alyson Ross and husband Wil and Courtney Branscum and husband Randy, and four great nieces (Jada Grande, Liliana Ross, Elizabeth Grande and Lennis Ross) and two great nephews (Willy Ross and Jordan Ross), all of Cabot, Arkansas. Viewing is scheduled at 9:30 AM on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel with a service to follow.
