Lester Calvin "Cal" Slusher was born October 17, 1917 in Waverly, Mo. He passed over January 1, 2008 at Presbyterian Manor.
Cal attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for 3 years. He left school to become a lieutenant in the United States Navy during WWII. After discharge Cal worked as a railway mail clerk until he retired to build and manage Pest Control Supplies of Kansas City. Cal enjoyed working in the community. He served as scout master of Troop 24 located at Central Methodist Church of Kansas City, Mo. He continued to work with the BSA in various capacities including taking his sons and grandsons to Scout camp. Cal enjoyed working with the Wyandotte Lions and served as president.
His wife of 62 years Marjorie L. Slusher precedes him in death. He leaves behind a sister Betty J. Coslett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Cal was the beloved father of Carter C. Slusher of Carmel. In., Susan C. Bell of Ontario, Ca, Pamela A. McGuire of Kansas City, Ks. and Robert P. Slusher of Prairie Village, Ks. He leaves 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 7 to be followed with a memorial service at 11. Services are to be held at Grandview United Methodist Church, 6660 Leavenworth Rd., Kansas City, Kansas.
