Leta (Armstrong) Schirk, 69, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013, at her home in Overland Park, KS.
Leta was born January 25, 1944, in Salina, KS to Virginia (DeWitt) and Clarence Armstrong. She grew up in Salina where she attended school and graduated from Salina High School. Leta was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
On December 2, 1985, she married James Schirk in Olathe, KS.
Leta enjoyed several employment experiences, primarily in the field of Human Resources. She stayed happy in her retirement by loving her kids and grandkids, traveling in the RV and shopping for houses.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Martha Haymond.
Leta is survived by her husband, James Schirk; daughter, Gail Staples; son, Kevin Staples; stepchildren, Jay Schirk, Lisa Kuznia, Mark Schirk, and Chris Schirk; eight grandchildren; and sister, Verna Meyers.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210.
