Lillian M. Burnett, 93, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, December 13, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 14, at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS 66209. Burial to follow Forest Hills Cemetery, 6901 Troost. Memorial contributions may be given to American Red Cross, 211 W. Armour Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64111. Lillian was born April 26, 1916, to Mike and Mary Learnihan. She attended Redemptorist grade school and high school and St. Theresa's College (now Avila Univ.). In 1944 she married Robert E. Burnett. In Kansas City, Lillian worked at Workbasket Magazine, J.C. Nichols Co., Boxoffice Magazine, Menorah Medical Center, and Starlight Theatre. After retirement, she moved to Portland, Maine for twenty years. She has lived at Village Shalom for five years. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and son, Michael. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Ernie) Euston; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. The family is grateful for years of care and friendship by the staff at Village Shalom and also for wonderful efforts of Kansas City Hospice in her final illness. (Arrangements: D.W.
