Lillian Marie Jeffries, 97, of Overland Park, Kansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 16th, 2021 while staying in the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Kimberling City, MO. Lillian was born on February 24th, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and grew up in Troy Mills, Iowa where she attended and graduated from Troy Mills High School. She then went on to attend the Iowa Teachers College in Cedarfalls, Iowa and graduated with a degree in teaching. She taught school in a one room school in rural Iowa for 2 years. She then married her childhood sweetheart, Eldon (Jeff) Jefferies in 1943. During WWII she was involved with voluntary service helping the USN in hospital aid and food services in Farragut, Idaho. In 1952 the couple moved to Kansas City, MO, then made their final home in Overland Park, Kansas in the early 60’s. Lillian was an Active member in the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary where she served in many notable roles with them and gave many hours of service helping disabled veterans. Lillian also worked in Association with KU Medical EENT Department as a billing accountant until her retirement. Lillian throughout her retirement was an active member of The American Business Women’s Association, a woman’s sorority Beta Sigma Phi Iota Chapter. Early on Lillian had many, many activities and hobbies she enjoyed such as square dancing with Dixie Diamonds, water skiing, camping, boating and socializing with her many friends. The last few years she enjoyed taking car trips, reading, spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She attended The First Christian Church of Olathe and also Walnut Shade Baptist Church in Walnut Shade, MO. Lillian is preceded in death by 4 brothers – Orville, Quintin, Lest and Claire and a sister, Lois and her husband, Jeff and son, James. She is also preceded in death by her son-in-law, “What’s His Name”, Larry Armintrout. She is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Armintrout of Turner, Kansas and Jacqueline K. Fertig of Kimberling City, MO. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren. 12 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Lillian’s last spoken words were “Tell everyone to love one another”, “Tell the family to love and respect each other” and “I love the whole family.”
