Lillian “Peggy” G. Wolverton, 98, of Overland Park, passed away December 7, 2015. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 15th at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS, with a burial following at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held an hour prior.
Mrs. Wolverton was born April 9, 1917, in Glasco, KS. Lillian worked at Universal Television during WWII. For a period of time, she worked at the Cake Box Bakery in Metcalf South Shopping Mall, and Mission Bakery for roughly ten years, then retiring at the age of 65.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell J. Wolverton; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her son, Charles D. Wolverton; daughter, Laurie L. Thompson; sister, Barbara Mostaffa; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Falke, Kurt Thompson, Jeffery Thompson, Sean Wolverton; six great-grandchildren, Eric Falke, Rachel Falke, Tyler Mayes, Brittany Thompson, Justin Thompson, Jaedyn Thompson; and two great great-grandsons, Roman Falke and Nixon Falke.
The family suggests contribution donations be made to Crossroads Hospice, 11150 Thompson Ave., Lenexa, KS 66219
