Lina Murrish, 88, Olathe, Kansas passed away February 23, 2015. Lina was born September 2, 1926 in Randlett, Oklahoma. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Dr Walter H. Murrish. Survivors include son, Chris Murrish (Darcia); daughter, Cindy Peterson (David); granddaughter, Shannon Barnhart (Ben) and great-grandson, Will Barnhart.
Lina was active in the theatre, with a special fondness for and knowledge of Shakespeare. She performed at the Pasadena Playhouse and assisted with productions of several plays at UMKC. She taught English, Speech and Drama over her long career at UMKC and KCKCC. She loved cats, traveling, reading, folk dancing and spending time with her family.
Cremation will take place then be followed by a private family service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Living Innovations, Inc. in care of Evergreen Community of JoCo at www.ecojc.org.
