Linda McCune

October 16, 1944 — January 17, 2015

Linda Jane (Janie) McCune of Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully the morning of January 17th, 2015 with family at her side.  Janie was born in Oklahoma City on October 16, 1944 to Glen Erwin Silvis and Mildred Wilson Silvis.  Janie was retired, having previously been employed as a bookkeeper for a construction company and an engineering company.
Janie was united in marriage to Bruce McCune on December 14, 1985 in Oklahoma City.  She was a member of Country Club Christian Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
Janie loved many and was loved by many.  She never met a stranger.  Her many pleasures included raising children, cooking, dogs, traveling, following the news, music, movies, and crossword puzzles.  Janie was creative and had a great sense of humor.  She was fun-loving with sparkling green eyes and had a strong personality.  Janie trusted in her Lord and Savior.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother (Glenn), and one daughter, Jennifer Holstein.  Survivors include her loving husband and four daughters:  Kelle Jones Zarrella, Leigh Holstein Heard, Kimberly Schwab, and Lindsay McCune Richardson.  Janie was proud of her 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5PM to 7PM on Monday, Jan. 19th, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel located at 11200 Metcalf Ave. in Overland Park.  Services will also take place at Johnson County Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, Jan. 20th, at 10:30AM.  Entombment will immediately follow the service at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Indoor Courtyard of Memories.
