Lisa A. Ashner, age 49, of Stilwell, KS passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 28th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be from 8:30-10:00 A.M., Saturday at the chapel prior to the service. Private graveside services will be held in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to Catholic Charities, 9720 W. 87th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66207.
In loving memory of Lisa A. Ashner, who was born on March 27, 1959 in St. Louis, MO. She was a loving mother, companion, wife, and was a mentor to all. She was a beautiful daughter, sister, and friend. Lisa touched and taught us all in so many ways, always there to reach out with an open heart and ear, imparting a wisdom for us all to carry with us forever. Lisa was a lover of life and found the beauty in everything and everyone around her. She loved experiencing nature in her many travels from the mountains to the seas and left them with us in her art, photographs, drawings and ceramics. She made us all see our cups half full, as was hers and she leaves us with a hole in our hearts.
She is survived by her daughters, Danielle and Nicole; and the father of her children, Jeff Ashner, all of Overland Park, KS; her father, Al Posner and his wife Cathy, Claremore, OK; her mother, Mary Lee Dalpini and her husband David, Georgetown, TX; her siblings, Mark Posner and his family, Bobby (Pam) Posner and their family, Susan (Curtis) Befort, David (Abby) Posner and their family and Laura (Zach) McKenna and their family. Lisa, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
