Lois Holland, 86, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Lois was born January 16, 1927, in Minneapolis, MN, to Raymond and LaVergne Smyth. Upon the death of LaVergne, Lois was raised by Raymond and Irene Smyth. Lois enjoyed music and played the organ for nursing homes in the Overland Park area. She was the past president of Overland Park Organ Club and also a Grand Master Bridge Champion. Lois was a past member of Brookridge and she enjoyed knitting, golfing and helping others. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, James V. Holland; four children, Jim, Marcia, Jerry and Barb; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; brother, Ray Smyth; and sister, Mary Smyth.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Interment will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park.
