Lois Anderson Murdock, 84, Prairie Village, KS, passed away on April 20, 2015.
Lois was born August 18, 1930 in Hempstead, NY to Ernest and Gertrude Anderson. She was married on August 12, 1950 to Stuart L. Murdock. They resided in New York and California, moving to Kansas City in 1957. She worked at Southwestern Bell for a few years and was a homemaker thereafter. Lois was a longtime member of the Saddle and Sirloin Club and supporter of the American Royal. She was a volunteer for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary, working in the gift shop.
Lois had a great sense of humor and enjoyed her family and friends, including a soft spot for many special dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Murdock; father, Ernest Anderson; mother, Gertrude Anderson; and sister, Kathryn Anderson.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Susan (Russell) Gowin of Hallsville, Mo; and grandson’s Matthew Gowin and Charles Gowin.
A graveside service will be held at 1 PM April 24, 2015 at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210. The family will greet friends at 3:30 PM April 24, 2015 at Claridge Court, 8101 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS.
