Lois A. Smith-Cunningham, age 73, of Belton, MO went to be with the Lord, April 1st, 2009 at the Rehabilitation Center of Raymore passing from heart disease.
Funeral services will be at 2p.m. April 10, 2009 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas with burial in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Friends may attend the visitation on April 9th from 6-9 p.m., with an Eastern Star Service at 6:30p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association on behalf of Lois Smith.
Mrs. Smith-Cunningham was born July 28, 1935 in Mendon, MO. She graduated from Northwestern High School in Mendon MO, in 1953. She was retired from ALM Medical Billing. Mrs. Smith had been very active in the Order of Eastern Star and served as a Mother Advisor of Lenexa Assembly #54 of the Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was a Worthy Matron of Adda Chapter #467 OES and Grand Ruth of the State of Kansas OES. She was a very loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband John E Cunningham age 48 and her daughter Terrie L Bardwell age 49. Survivors include her son John E Cunningham Jr. and his spouse Lara, with his sons Tyler and Mason of Belton,Mo, two granddaughters Cherie and Staci Peden of Basehor, KS, her sister Dotty Davis and spouse Don of Lathrop, MO, and Half Brother George Lewis and spouse Mary of Hermitage, MO, and Half Brother Max Shackelford and spouse Linda of Douds, IA, and Half Sister Linda Conger and spouse Ed of Ollie, IA, and Half Sister Joan Shackelford of Ollie, IA, and a Sister-in-law Bertha Mae Cunningham of Brunswick, MO, as well as many nephews and nieces.
