Lois J. Thomas

Lois J. Thomas, 97, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away February 18, 2021.

Lois was born in Kansas City, Kansas, to Charlie and Myrtle Cunningham.  She grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Wyandotte High School.   She also attended The Kansas City Art Institute.

Lois and James G. Thomas, Jr. were married February 14, 1942 and he left for the Army/Airforce and she began her career in banking.  Upon his return, they had a son, David Dean in 1946.  She and Jim enjoyed square dancing and were members of several square dance clubs.

Lois was an active artist, and a seamstress.  She enjoyed playing cards, bunco and bingo.  She was a long-time member of Hillcrest Christian Church and a member of Delta Epsilon Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Thomas, Jr.  She is survived by her son, David (Linda) Thomas, grandsons; Jeff (Jenny) Thomas and Rob Thomas, Great granddaughters; Katie Thomas and Sara Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lois' honor to:  Hillcrest Christian Church, 11411 Quivira Road, Overland Park, KS  66210
