Loraine Lavern Nidiffer, 88, passed away on August 4, 2016 after an extended illness. She leaves behind loving husband and partner, Dr. Thomas J. Nidiffer and their daughters, Cyndi and Debbie (Mollie Drew) and a grand-daughter, Ashley Sweren.
This love affair of 63 years began in Memphis, Tenn. She received her bachelor’s degree from Memphis State, where she was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Loraine had a passion for teaching and instilling the importance of education in young children. Her tireless work as a Sunday school teacher, youth counselor and Campfire Leader shall hold a special place in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
In support of her husband’s Oral & Maxillofacial surgical practice, she served as President of the local Dental Auxiliary 5th District, Past President of the Kansas State Auxiliary and voted “Woman of the Year” for her tireless work with both local and state auxiliaries.
In support of her church, she served as teacher, deacon and regional board of directors for Central Baptist Seminary.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 4 Pm, Saturday, August 6, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving visitors prior to these services at 3 PM.
