Loretta Coffey

Loretta Marie (Herman) Coffey, 88, of Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2021 at home.  Loretta was born September 22, 1932 in Kansas City, KS.  She and her twin sister Marietta were the oldest of eleven.  She met her one and only love, Russell, and married in 1951.  Loretta made lovely homes for Russ and their three children, living in Mission, Prairie Village, Stilwell and finally Overland Park.  For the past 7 years she lived at Brookdale Senior Living where she made many special friends.  She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Loretta was preceded in death by husband Russell; parents Karl and Wilma Herman; brother William Herman and sisters Marietta Upton and Barbara Barnhardt.

She is survived by sons Anthony (Bonnie), Christopher (Charles Michel), and daughter Marsha (Lucrezia Petigna); granddaughters Suzanne Busch (Jeremy) and Colleen Kroeger (Timothy); great grandsons Nathan, Noah, Andrew Kroeger; siblings Dorothy Doyle, Karl, Bernard, Joseph, Albert, James and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 30th, 5:30 – 7:30 at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th St., Overland Park, KS.  Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS at 10:00 am Monday, August 2, 2021.  The Mass will be livestreamed on the church’s website:  https://kcascension.org
