Lorna Voss

Lorna Wilkelena (Abben) Voss was born February 19, 1917 near Little Rock, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Ora (Christians) Abben. She attended country school and high school in the Little Rock area. She finished high school and graduated from Gilmore City, Iowa High School in 1935.
She married Donald Voss on September 3, 1926. She and her husband spent many years on their farm where they raised six children. She enjoyed her garden and grew many beautiful flowers. She and her husband retired to Escondido, California where they lived for 35 years before recently moving to Kansas City area to live with their son.
Lorna passed away on February 29, 2008 at the age of 91. She leaves to cherish her memories, Donald, her husband of 71 years; daughter LaDonna Nelson of Albert Lea, Minnesota; daughter Madeline Harris and husband Tom of Franklin, Indiana; son Terry Lee Voss of Ogden, Utah; daughter, Virginia Richter and husband Larry of San Antonio, Texas; and son Denton Voss and wife Jane of Leawood, Kansas. Also left to cherish her memories are 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ben Abben; two sisters, Mattie Feeken and Jeanette Eaten; one son, Robert; one grandson, Paul Nelson; and one son-in-law, Walter Nelson.
