Louella "Lou Rene" Tunks Lynch, 93, died on October 14 in Plano, TX.
She was born in King City, MO to Louis R. and Anna Burke Tunks on February 3, 1915 and raised on a farm there. She graduated from Maysville High School. Lou Rene was an accomplished pianist and taught piano for many years. She also served as accompanist for various groups through the years. She married Paul Edward Lynch of Maysville, MO on March 4, 1939. They had a long and happy life together filled with family, friends, travel and church work. They lived primarily in the Shawnee Mission, KS area where Lou Rene was a homemaker. In their retirement years they spent their winters in south Texas. Her husband Paul passed away on May 4, 1986. Lou Rene moved to Plano, TX in the early 90's to be near her daughter and family. At the time of her death she resided at the Prestonwood Rehab and Nursing Center where she received loving care. Prior to that she happily resided at Dayspring Assisted Living Center.
She is survived by her daughter Paula Sue McCurry and son-in-law Larry McCurry. She was a loving grandmother to James (and Lisa) Butler of Shawnee, KS and their children Riley and Kelsey; Polly (and Matthew) Harrison of Wylie, TX and their children Nicholas, Alexander and Zachary; and Joel (and Julie) Butler of Overland Park, KS and their children Brooks, Parker, Hunter and Carter. She is also survived by her brother Gene (and Lucile) Tunks of King City, MO, her sister Kathryn Wheatley of Tarkio, MO, her brother Ray (and Dolly) Tunks of Clayton, NJ, her brother Asa (and Rosemary) Tunks of Savannah, MO, sister-in-law Frances Tunks of Kingman, AZ and brother-in-law Herb (and Ruth) Lynch of Sun City, AZ and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two infant daughters, two brothers Burke Tunks and Franklin Tunks and son-in-law Daniel Weber. She was a member of the Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 20, at Countryside Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disciples Christian Church, 2001 Independence Parkway, Plano, TX 75075.
