Louis Johnson

Louis Richard Johnson, 93, of Olathe, KS died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his residence in the Aberdeen Village Nursing Home.   Louis was born on June 28, 1922 in Kansas City, MO to the late Arthur F. Johnson and Rose M. Lang.  Louis is a WWII Veteran serving in the United States Navy in the Asian Pacific.  Following his faithful service he would go on to have a more than 30 year career as a Postal Clerk in the United States Post Office.  Following the passing of his loving wife LaVerne Katherine Johnson in 1980, Louis relocated to Ocala, Florida where he would live for more than 20 years before returning to the Kansas City area.
Louis is preceded in death by his first wife LaVerne Johnson, parents, Arthur and Rose Johnson, wives, Cora M. Johnson and Wanda Goode, and brothers, Arthur F. Johnson and George E. Johnson.  Louis is survived by his sons, Richard Lee Johnson and wife Linda, and Larry Alan Johnson and wife Kyoko.  He is also survived by his sisters Rosemary Kirkland and Evelyn Maglio, grandchildren, Nancy Kay Johnson-Mitchell, Deborah Lynn Johnson, Tammy Todd, Brent Johnson and wife Susan, and Matthew Johnson and wife Heather, and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Visitation will be from 10am to 11am, Friday, July 31, 2015 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel 11200 Metcalf Ave. Overland Park, KS 66210.  Followed by an 11am Funeral Service in the chapel and interment with Military Honors at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
