Louise Leitner

Louise Leitner, 92, passed away peacefully Jan. 3, 2011 at ManorCare of Overland Park. Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. A memorial service in Herndon, KS will follow in the spring. Louise was born Sept 24, 1918 on a farm in Herndon, KS to John and Anna Leitner. She was a longtime Airline Hostess, primarily for Pan American Airlines. Her final station was in New York City where she lived for many years before returning to Kansas in 2003. Louise proudly served in the US Marine Corps during World War II prior to beginning her aviation career. She was a member of World Wings International and the American Legion. She is survived by her sister, Emma Oakden, Puyallup, Washington, many nieces and nephews and many other cherished family and friends who knew her as Aunt Louise.
