September 9, 1930 – October 25, 2019

Louise Gerba Richardson, 89, Prairie Village, KS, passed away October 25, 2019 at Stratford Commons Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Kansas City, KS  September 9, 1930 to Nicholas and Danica Gerba, Louise was one of ten children.  She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1948 and spent several years working for various doctors prior to her marriage in 1957.  She was married to Bill Richardson until his death in 2001.  Louise had three loves; her family, her friends and her faith.  She was a lifelong member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, The Serb National Federation, and Circle of Serbian Sisters Sveta Petka.  Louise enjoyed watching college basketball (with an emphasis on the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers and Kansas Jayhawks), and gathering with her rug hooking friends every Friday.  She is survived by her son David Richardson (Anna) of Leawood, KS; daughter, Andrea Hunter (Allen) of Fairway, KS; sister, Beverly Douglas (Overland Park); grandchildren, Clark Richardson (Whitney), Clay Richardson (Kayla Cowell), Ben Richardson and Caroline Hunter; great grandson, Archer Richardson; as well as many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Richardson; brothers, Donald, Joe, Pete, and Robert Gerba; sisters, Mary Conley, Helen Stonestreet, Mel Tahan, and Dorothy Coburn.  The family would like to thank Dr. Mike Monaco and the staff of Mission Chateau, Kindred Home Health, and Stratford Commons Rehabilitation for their loving care and support.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 11000 Greenwood Street, Lenexa, KS.  The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church.
