Mrs. L. Rice

Karen L. Rice, 72, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Visitation will be held at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS, 66210 on Thursday, August 5, from 6-7 p.m. Funeral services will follow visitation starting at 7 p.m. Karen was born January 20, 1938 in Caseyville, Missouri. She was married to Larry Rice. She was a Nanny and worked many years in touching the hearts of mental health issues, working with all walks of life from the hearts of many. She will be very missed, remembered, and loved dearly. Karen was a member of the Astronomy Club of Kansas City, the Olathe Christian Fellowship, and the Founder of the "Caren Club." She was preceded in death by Tod and Brenda Mclean , her beloved son & daughter-in-law. Karen is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Larry Rice; sister, Donna Sue & Jack Davidson; son, Tim Mclean; daughter, Julie Abbott; grandson, Jonathon; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Jill Humphrey; grandson, Justin; granddaughter, Alissa & granddaughter, Kailey; with many nieces & nephews all beloved by Karen.
