Luciana "Hope" E. Mejia, 82, Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully February 9, 2013. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, KS 66216. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Memorial contributions may be made to Rebuild Together Shawnee, P.O. Box 3617, Shawnee, KS 66203. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence "Chico" Mejia; four daughters, Patricia (Angel) Garcia, JoAnn Lozano, Sophia (Robert) Poor and Cecilia (Steve) Masters; one son, Christopher (Teresa) Mejia Sr.; one brother, Richard (Viviana) Medellin; two sisters, Felipa Alamarez and Victoria Tejada; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She cherished her family and was adored by many. She will be in our hearts forever.
