Lucy Elizabeth Weber, one-year-old daughter of Brian and Bev Weber of Shawnee, Kansas, joined the angels in heaven on Saturday, November 20, 2010, in the loving arms of her parents after a courageous six-month battle with cancer. She is now completely healed and is living among the angels in heaven. Lucy was born on June 8, 2009 in Shawnee, Kansas. She loved playing with her big sister, Lilli, going on walks and wagon rides, getting kisses from her dog Rooney, reading books, listening to music and giving smiles. Lucy began an incredibly brave battle with AT/RT cancer in June 2010 and spent her first birthday in surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her brain. Lucy made a friend of everyone she met, both in the hospital and out. She was loved by everyone who met her. She often roamed the halls of Children's Mercy in her walker and always offered a smile to everyone she came across. She was truly a remarkable little girl even through her illness, and she brightened the lives of so many. She has had a profound impact on people near and far and she will truly live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her or followed her story. Lucy is survived by her parents, Brian and Bev Weber; her sister, Lillianne; her dog, Rooney; her maternal grandparents, Bill and Barbara Patterson; her paternal grandmother, Carmen Weber; many aunts and uncles including Julie Godbout, Valerie Patterson, Brenda Edwards, Becky Fisk, Angie Dreiling, Connie Logsdon, Stacie Cates, Kurt Weber and Great-grandpa Pete Bogner, as well as many cousins and friends both old and young. Lucy is now joined in heaven with those family members who have gone before her including her paternal grandfather, Kenneth Weber. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church; 13615 W. 92nd St., Lenexa, Kansas with a celebration reception to follow at TBD. Lucy will be laid to rest next to her grandfather in Wichita, Kansas in a private burial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to Brian or Bev Weber for Team Lucy, to be distributed to charitable organizations chosen by the family.
