LURA ESTHER GRAVES

Lura Esther Graves, 96, passed away on October 5, 2010 at Brighton Gardens in Prairie Village.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard. Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Kipp and husband Bob; one son, Stan Graves and wife Kathy; one stepdaughter Amy Kelley and husband Tom; one brother Sam Wheeler; one sister Peg Friedlander and husband Roy; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Lura and Howard were a career military couple in the U.S.Air Force, with tours of duty in Kansas, Missouri, Michigan, Washington, California and many overseas assignments, including the Korean War. Following retirement from his military time, they resided in Seattle, Colorado Springs, Tucson, and finally in Kansas City. Lura was a lifelong lover of animals, primarily Pomeranians, of which they had five, one after another, all named Skoshi.
