On January 12th, 1918, Ernest and Myrtle Myrick welcomed their second child of eleven, Luther Ernest Myrick. On May 5, 2016, Luther was welcomed home by his beloved wife, Mary, of 75 years. They were united in marriage August 11, 1938 and to that union, they were blessed with seven children.
Luther provided for his family as a truck driver and many odd jobs. He worked with is son Charlie until dad retired at the age of 80.
Dad enjoyed feeding the birds, squirrels and the neighbor’s dog, Toby. The kids in the neighborhood enjoyed ice cream he gave them.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gwen, and his son James. He is survived by Charles Myrick, Cheney, KS, Beverly Eastwood(Richard) Nortonville, KS, Edna Walters(Rich) Wheatland, MO, Carol Collins(Marvin) Kansas City, Kansas, Jackie Robison, Basehor, KS, and one sister, Peggy Wexelman of Topeka, KS. He will be missed by his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
