Lydia Bush, 93, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022. Visitation will start at 10 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11 A.M. on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Hope Lutheran Church, 6308 Quivira, Shawnee Mission, KS. Interment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Lutheran Church.
Lydia was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on July 2, 1928, to the late John and Sophie (Zitzer) Schneider and was baptized at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She married the love of her life, Elden “Bud” Bush, on October 8, 1955. Together they had one daughter, Patricia (Bush) Wyatt.
Lydia worked at the JCPenney credit office in Mission, Kansas. She later helped serve lunches at Trailridge Junior High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, until her retirement in 1990. Lydia was a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, doing puzzles, cooking, baking, watching the Game Show network and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Megan, and the family dogs, Pickles, Chloe, and Daisy.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John Jr. and Herman Schneider; two sisters, Marie Wiegand and Hildegard Schneider, and her husband, Bud. She is survived by her two sisters, Rose Frederick and Betty Vanic, daughter, Patricia and son-in-law, Doug Wyatt and granddaughter, Megan Wyatt. Lydia will be greatly missed and forever loved.
