Marvin Dayle Moore, son of Ralph and Fern Moore, was born on May 6, 1935, in Osborn, MO. He died Friday, December 14th at KU Med after a short battle with cancer. He was 83.
Dayle, as he was known from the day he was born, is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Peggy, his son Barry wife Rhonda and their 2 children Logan and Kaden as well as their Daughter-in-Law Sue Moore and 2 children Kirsten and Preston. He was preceded in death by his son Scott, two daughters deceased at birth, his parents and his sister.
Dayle grew up on a farm in Osborn and graduated from Osborn High where he played baseball, basketball, sang in the choir, and played trumpet in the band and quartet. He attended Central Missouri State (now known as University of Central Missouri) and then moved to Kansas City where he worked for Paxton Lumber in Sales. He met his wife Peggy in KC and they were married in February of 1959. After working for Paxton Lumber, he started working for Franklin Chemical Company and had a career in Sales for 20 plus years. He then went on to be a Manufactures Rep until he retired at the age of 81. Dayle and Peggy had a full life filled with kid’s and grandkid’s activities as well as cruises and other travels. He made friends everywhere he went and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Dayle was the best storyteller making others laugh. He was a true gentleman, caring, supportive, and encouraging to all he met.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 21st the at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will be from 10am to 11am, Service will be from 11am to 12pm with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in memory of M. Dayle Moore.
On May 6th (Dayle’s 84thBirthday) there will be a graveside service at the Osborn, MO Cemetery at 11:00 with a luncheon to follow.
