Margie L. Ruse

Margie Leone Ruse, 100, Overland Park, KS, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Margie was born December 19, 1923 in Randolph, Nebraska, to Claude and Mildred Sellon. She grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, where she met Marden Ruse (Merle) during his tenure as a cadet in the U.S. Army Air Corp.

They married in August of 1944.

Margie is preceded in death by Merle, who passed in 2013. She is survived by her three sons and their wives: Steven D. and Marsha, James K.

and Debra, and Thomas E. and Carolyn, as well as eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Margie devoted her life to her family and relished watching it grow. She also had myriad close friendships throughout the family’s life in Overland Park. Most recently Margie lived comfortably at Stratford Commons with the dedicated assistance of a skillful and compassionate staff.

In lieu of a formal service, friends and family are encouraged to keep Margie in their thoughts and prayers. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley View United Methodist Church, 8412 W. 95th, Overland Park, KS 66212
