Shirley Mae Wiedenmann Basore, 91, of Leawood, KS, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010. Memorial Services will be Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 4:00 p.m., at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Ave., Overland Park, KS. Family burial services will be in Forest Hill Cemetery prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association Heart of America - 3846 W. 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Mrs. Basore was born February 17, 1919 in Kansas City, MO. She was the daughter of William A. Wiedenmann and Jamie Payne Wiedenmann. She was the great-granddaughter of William Wiedenmann, one of the founders of Westport. She was a graduate of Westport High School and attended Drury College in Springfield, MO, where she met her husband Harry H. Basore. The couple was married for 69 years. Mrs. Basore was a member of Daughter of the American Revolution, Daughter of Old Westport and P.E.O. She spent the majority of her life living in Kansas City except for a period, after her husband's retirement, that the couple lived on Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO. Survivors include her husband Harry H. Basore; son, Harry H. Basore III, daughter Carlene Chrisman and husband Byron, Son William Basore and wife Jean; grandchildren, Hilary Petersen Amerine and husband Shawn, Garth Petersen , Trevor and Jamie Petersen, Allison Panos and husband Ben, Tommy and Tori Basore; and great grandchildren Carter Petersen, Jacquie Mae and Caleb Amerine.
