Jane Wells slipped peacefully into the arms of God November 22, 2019 after recently celebrating her 100th birthday.
Malinda Jane (Ross) Wells was born November 15, 1919 to John and Azell Ross in Willard, MO. She graduated from Willard High School as Valedictorian of her class and attended college in Springfield MO. Jane was a charter member of Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi of Springfield MO.
She was employed by International Harvester Company where she met Carl Wells, her future husband. Throughout their many company transfers, from Springfield to Kansas City to Memphis, Tennessee, Minneapolis, MN, Ogden Utah and return to Kansas City, they enjoyed many fond memories.
During Jane's career she worked for a law firm in Peoria Ill and for the Shawnee Mission Public school in Overland Park. She worked 10 years for General Services Administration of the Federal Government, retiring in 1984,
Later in life she studied and graduated from the Conservatory of Music University of Missouri. She was a member of the Johnson County Organ Club. Jane was the church organist for First Southern Baptist Church and then Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years. She was active in the Homebound Ministry sharing her love and gifts of music.
Carl and Jane were married for 61 years, He proceeded her to Heaven in 2009. They have 2 daughters, Carla Jan Husband of Atlanta, Georgia married to Dwight and Nancy Jane Herrmann of Leawood, Kansas, married to Jeff. She enjoyed their 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan married to Ari, Graham, Sydney and Shelby. Recently Jane enjoyed the visits of her 2 great-grandchildren- Mia and Miles. She has a sister June Holman and husband Bill in Springfield, MO.
After moving to several different states Jane appreciated her Midwestern heritage. This influenced her philosophy of life which was "to live a full, wholesome, meaningful and Christian life."
