Marcia Ruth Eberly was the daughter of Carl Switzer and Mary Grace Rader. The Switzers were early settlers in the Shawnee Mission community. She attended Park University where she met and married Charles D. Eberly. They were married for 65 years.

For many years she was a volunteer at Overland Park Regional Medical Center where she worked over 5,000 hours. She served on the Board of Volunteers and also received the President’s Call to Service Award.

She also taught painting for numerous years and worked with the students in the Learning Center at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. She was a member of Friends of Art, the Shawnee Mission Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the First Families of Ohio.

Her interests included music, art, traveling, reading, and knitting.
