Margie M. (Pappas) Badger 86, Lenexa, KS passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 20, 1925 to Augusta & Walter Nagel in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Margie graduated from Manual High School, Kansas City, Missouri in 1942. During World War II she was a Welder and also worked for the Navy in the Pass & Traffic Office at Mare Island, California.
Margie returned to this area where she was employed by Unity School of Christianity as a letter writer. In the later years she worked for K-Mart until she retired in 1987.
She married Louis T. Pappas in 1948. They were blessed with two daughters, Margo Czerw and Helen Tullis. Louis passed away in 1981. In 1987, Margie married Donald Badger. They remained together until his death in 1996.
Others who preceded Margie in death are a brother, Richard Nagel; an infant grandson, Cannon Childers; and a loving friend, Andy Mayberry.
Surviving family include two daughters, Margo Pappas Czerw and Helen Tullis; six grandsons, Cliff Childers, Colby Childers, Clayton Garrow, Chase Garrow, Dylan Coleman and Dimitri Tullis; three granddaughters, Cameon Childers, Shelbie Coleman and Dominique Tullis; brother-in-laws, sisters in-laws; and many nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel. Interment will follow at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
