Marian Timmcke

January 24, 1923 — April 6, 2020

Marian C. Timmcke, 97, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away on April 6,2020.  Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, KS.  A Celebration of Life will be organized at a later date.

Marian was born January 24, 1923 in Beloit, WI and was the only child of Hjalmar and Olga Wold. She moved to Shawnee, KS in 1961.  She was a homemaker raising 4 children, worked in Niemen Elementary School cafeteria while her children were in school.  She then went to work at Montgomery Wards Credit office in Merriam, KS until she retired.  She was active with her church, Overland Park Lutheran. She volunteered and made many things for the Metropolitan Lutheran Ministry for their outreach programs including sewing sweatshirts and blankets.  She enjoyed dancing with her husband, Donald as a member of Carnival Dance Club.  She enjoyed music and played the organ for the enjoyment of family and friends.  She also played the accordion, bassoon, and soprano saxophone.  She taught her daughters to play the piano.  Music was an important part of her life which she passed on to her children.  She learned in her later years to draw and painted, penciled many drawings which she gave to her family and friends.

Proceeded in death by her husband, Donald L. Timmcke.  Survivors include children Ronald L. Timmcke (Barbara), Alubuquerque, NM,  Jeannine L. Olcott (Robert),  Overland Park, KS, Kim L. Stephens, Shawnee, KS, and Dana L. Timmcke (Judi), Monterey, TN.;  13 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren,  and 6 great great grandchildren.

Family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
