Marilyn C. Lee, 86, Overland Park, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2008 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held the evening prior from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 2400 Troost, Kansas City, MO 64108. Mrs.
Lee was born June 12, 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Kansas, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She remained a proud Alumni and avid Jayhawk fan. Marilyn married James Robert Lee June 29, 1943. She retired from Aetna Life & Casualty in 1987. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, and took pleasure in gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert (Bob) Lee; grandson, Peter Lee Deal; and sister, Shirley Miller Salmon. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Jane Adair Buxton and husband James and Cynthia Ann Vanderslice and husband Robert; grandchildren, Michelle Smith and husband Philip, Amy Ward and husband Darren, Richard Vanderslice, Michael Vander- slice and wife Megan, and Christen Vanderslice; great grandchildren, Michael, Betsy and Katie Smith and Jack, Ben, and Brooks Ward.
