Marilyn Jean (Chapman) Grauer, 69, of Leawood, KS passed away on Jan 9, 2016. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, Jan 12, 2016 at the Wesley Chapel, Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, KS 66224. Visitation will be held an hour prior.
Marilyn was born Dec 29, 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK. As a young child she and her sister moved to Arcadia, CA., to live with their Aunt and Uncle, Clara and Glen Whitworth.
She graduated from Arcadia High School and then later received her BA from UCLA. She later moved to Marysville, KS., where she raised her family and began her elementary teaching career. Marilyn also continued her education at K-State earning her BS and Masters degrees. Later she moved to Overland Park and started teaching at Stilwell in the Blue Valley School District before her retirement.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her Aunt and Uncle. Survivors include daughters, Stacey (Brian) Heintz, of Burnett, WI., Jenn (Alan) Jessup, of Lee’s Summit, MO.; sister, Karen McBratney, of Leawood, KS.; two grandchildren, Trevor Kos, Charlize Jessup; and one step-granddaughter, Taylor Jessup.
