A graveside service will be held Wednesday May 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Ave. Overland Park, KS 66210.
Marilyn was born on December 20, 1931, in Minneola, KS. She was a loving mother and wife for 63 years. She attended Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS where she graduated in 1953 with a degree in Art. She taught school in Leoti, KS for a year before moving to Chicago, IL where she met her future husband, Kenneth W. Myles. She was the mother of three beautiful daughters, Kim Burchstead (Steve) of Overland Park, KS; Claudia Worley (Clay) of Clifton, VA; and Stacy Cope (Warren) of Olathe, KS. She was grandmother to eleven who were her pride and joy; Andrew Worley, Sarah Worley, Brooke Worley, Brian Worley, Paige (Burchstead) Paulson, Evan Burchstead, Brent Burchstead, Melina (Cope) Stewart, Colin Cope, Shelby Cope and Hayley Cope. She is also survived by her brother Rodney Marshall (Judy) of Highlands Ranch, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents Era and Owen Marshall of Minneola, KS and her beloved husband Kenneth W. Myles.
Marilyn and her family lived in Chicago, IL and Southern California before moving to Lenexa, KS where she joined New Neighbors and became involved in Questers and the Garden Club. She was an avid gardener and was blessed with a green thumb. She was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Prairie Village, KS since 1983. She will be greatly missed but her legacy lives on in her family who are grateful for her life of love and support.
