Marion Ellis

On Wednesday, October 14, Marion Paul Ellis (Mackie), loving husband, father of four, and devoted granddaddy died at the age of 97. He was born on June 13, 1923, in Scotia SC, to Pauline Schuman Ellis, who died with he was 11, and James Lamar Ellis, who died when he was 14. He is also preceded in death by his 4 siblings, including his twin sister, Pauline, and his wife, Patricia Wilcox Ellis.

Mackie is survived by 4 children, Jennifer Jensen (Ross), Beth Winger (Joe), Paul Ellis (Pat), and Patty Thompson (Brent), 12 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

Mackie had long career as an insurance salesman with a variety of companies and said he sold a policy a week for 20 years. He was quite a fix it man, as long as it involved duct-tape. He was devoted to his family and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by anyone who experienced his kind ways and teasing manner.
