Marion F. Morrison, a 62-year Shawnee resident, entered his heavenly home peacefully, Sunday, October 04th, 2020 in the home, at the age of 82. Marion was born on May 01, 1938 at home in Camdenton Missouri. He was the son of Lee Roy Morrison and Gracie May (Webb) Morrison.
Marion grew up on a small farm, with his parents, six brothers and two sisters. He was taught Christian principles, not wasting time, money, food, along with the disciplines of hard work, perseverance, planning ahead, which shaped Marion for his entire lifetime, and guided him in contributing to the family as a whole and in raising four children.
On November 22, 1958, Marion was united in marriage to Marjorie Ann Mathia. Together they shared sixty-one years of love and laughter, while raising their children. They raised their four children together side-by-side, as fully engaged parents, in their Shawnee home.
Marion worked As a Rough-in carpenter in his early years, before becoming self employed as a trim carpenter. In his later years he became the maintenance man for Langworthy. Marion was in the Carpenters union for 25 years.
Marion enjoyed Family, Life, Whittling, Fishing, bluegrass music, Western movies, and NASCAR Racing.
Marion is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie, his four children; Marion F. Morrison Jr. of Ottawa, KS, Kenneth R Morrison of Raymore, MO, Raymond O. Morrison and his wife, Sherry of Shawnee, KS, and Pamela R. Ledestich and her husband Mike of Stilwell, KS. Eleven grandchildren; Jason Morrison, Jennifer Morrison, Erica Stock and her family of Peculiar MO, Amy Schweigerdt, and her family of Pleasant Hill, MO, Kristy Wass and family of Shawnee, KS, Julie Williams and her husband Tom, Daniel Morrison, Kevin Pritchard of Leavenworth, KS, Brandon Pritchard and family of Gardner, KS, Kimberly Pritchard and family of Gardner, KS, Jesse Pritchard of Stilwell, KS, along with 16 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents; Lee Roy and Gracie May Morrison, Two sisters; Ida Looney, and Irene Anderson, and six brothers; Claudie, Clide, Jimmy, Johnny, Leroy, and Jesse Morrison
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel followed by Graveside Service at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, Kansas.
