Marjorie Ruth Hansen – Obituary

Marjorie R. Hansen, 81, of Overland Park, KS passed away October 24, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living of Overland Park, KS after a long and courageous battle with illness. Marjorie was born December 19, 1937 in Omaha, NE to Harry and Lillian Rohwer.

She grew up on her family’s farm in Ft. Calhoun, NE. She received her bachelors degree in nursing from the Mary Lanning School of Nursing and Hastings College and married Robert E. Hansen on November 21, 1959 in Omaha, NE.

Bob and Marge lived for short periods in Lincoln, Grand Island and Omaha, Nebraska before settling in Overland Park, KS in 1966 where they’ve lived ever since.

Marge had a successful career in nursing and was involved in La Sertoma of Shawnee Mission as a volunteer in retirement.

Marge is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years Bob Hansen, three children Mark (Christine), Carol, John (Liz) and six grandchildren Olivia, Bailey, Brock, Valerie, Madison and Amanda.

Marge enjoyed gardening, cooking and being around her family. Marge was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 9:00 AM at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS.

Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS with a luncheon immediately following.
